In 2006, at the urging of association members, the
Village Walk Board of Directors formed a Covenants Review Team to
begin the task of updating the Village Walk Covenants and By Laws.
At that time, covenants were collected and compared from the
Zionsville neighborhoods of Clifden Pond, Colony Woods, Colony
Square, Royal Run, The Westons, Rock Bridge, Thorn Hill, The
Preserve at Spring Knoll, and one neighborhood in Pike Township.
Over the next two and a half years, this team of volunteers combed
through the Village Walk covenants and by laws line by line. The
main purpose was to remove original developer language, to provide
more detail where detail regarding certain issues was lacking, and
to address issues that were not present during the development of
our neighborhood.
In 2009 the Village Walk Board of Directors thought it prudent, due to ever changing laws, to hire professional counsel to expedite the process and to double check the work of the Review Team. Tom Murray is an attorney with the Indianapolis law firm of Eads Murray & Pugh, P.C. He first began representing condominium and homeowners associations on a regular basis in 1988. With Tom’s help, we now have a comprehensive and legal set of amended covenants and by laws that were formally recorded with the Boone County Recorder on November 15, 2010.
The board of directors, along with volunteer Block Captains, wish to thank the association members for their encouraging response to this project and for the many positive comments we've received.
